Sedation
At FDC, we offer two forms of sedation: Nitrous Oxide, otherwise known as “laughing gas”, and Oral Conscious Sedation.
Nitrous Oxide is delivered by placing a mask that covers your nose allows oxygen and nitrous to flow as the patient breaths. This forms of sedation is best for situations where you are slightly anxious and will help you relax and be at ease.
This is a conscious level of sedation that requires a 2-hour fasting window prior to treatment but does have any functional restrictions after use.
Oral Conscious Sedation is the next level up in sedation that we offer. It is administered oral by a tablet. This tablet can also made into a flavoured syrup for the treatment of children.
This form of sedation requires an 8-hour fasting window and requires a driver to and from treatment.
Oral Sedation takes away the anxiety and fear you may have before dental treatment, so much so, many patients fall asleep in the chair!
